Parish Festival 2025
Our Annual Parish Festival
On April 26, 1970, the Men’s Club hosted a parish picnic at Comanche Park. That simple gathering marked the beginning of a beloved tradition—one that has grown into the annual Parish Festival, a celebration of community, faith, and friendship.
Over the years, the festival has expanded, offering Carnival games, live music, entertainment, food stalls, craft vendors, and activities for all ages. It has become a highlight of the year, eagerly anticipated by parishioners and visitors alike.
In 2015, the Parish Festival Committee moved the event to our parish grounds, creating a more intimate and welcoming space. This transition proved to be a success, allowing us to accommodate growing crowds and enhance the experience for all attendees.
In 2018, as San Antonio celebrated its 300-year anniversary, our parish community embraced the historic occasion by hosting the Parish Festival in the spring to coincide with the city’s iconic Fiesta celebrations. This alignment further strengthened our connection to the vibrant cultural heritage of San Antonio, making the festival not just a parish tradition, but an extension of the broader citywide celebration.
Like any long-standing tradition, the festival has faced challenges. In 2020 and 2021, we were unable to host the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2022, an unprecedented winter storm brought extensive damage to parish buildings, delaying the festival further. Despite these hardships, our community remained steadfast, working to restore and prepare for the festival’s revival.
Finally, in 2024, the Parish Festival made its long-awaited return. With renewed spirit and enthusiasm, our community came together once more—celebrating not only our history but our resilience. Today, the festival continues to flourish, reminding us all of the strength, faith, and unity that make our parish so special.
Mission of the Parish Festival
The goal of the Parish Festival is to bring the community together in a spirit of faith, fellowship, and celebration. It serves as an opportunity for parishioners, families, and neighbors to gather, strengthen bonds, and create lasting memories.
Beyond social connection, the festival also helps support the parish’s mission—whether through fundraising efforts, outreach programs, or simply reinforcing the sense of unity within the community. It’s a chance to celebrate traditions, enjoy entertainment, and showcase the rich cultural and spiritual life of the parish.
